Science Trumps War

Today’s news about Minnesota scientists creating a heart from the scaffold of a rat heart and seeding it with heart cells from a baby rat (while simulating the pumping of a heart) gives the world hope that some day scientists may be able to repair—not just the heart—but other organs as well.
The war in Iraq sucks billions upon billions from our budget. It is time to end this costly boondoggle. This should be the time for the U.S. to increase funding for medical research.
