Finally, Promise in Darfur

By PAM BERNS
Scientists have discovered an underground lake in the Darfur region of Sudan that is the size of Lake Erie—large enough to provide water for the poor, suffering people of Darfur as well as those who have terrorized them. Over 200,000 innocent people have been killed by marauding janjaweed and about 2 million people have been displaced. Will this opportunity to provide water for all who need it stop the violence? It may be too late to mend the differences. How do they forgive such atrocities?
