ABC Debate Revealed Differences

By PAM BERNS
The Saturday night presidential debates on ABC revealed the vast differences between the political parties. The Republicans talked on immigration and defense, the Democrats on change and special interests, and on bringing home the troops. Huckabee and McCain did well. So did Hillary and Edwards. Obama seemed very tired and serious. Romney appeared oblivious to the problem many Americans have—the inability to get any company to sell them health insurance. Romney’s demeanor was self-righteous and contrasted greatly with Huckabee’s warmth and spontaneity. The debate was the most interesting one to date because candidates had a chance to contradict each other. The New Hampshire primary will be pivotal.
